. Darn commercial. It had to air right before this show began, so I get to see Aang one last time, looking ever so awesomely a dozen and cunning, as he saves the entire world again before he vanishes to the vacuum of time that waits for us all. Bye, Aang. You are a statue now. Sniffle. See you in the cartoons they show on the opposite side, little pal.

But enough of the mourning. Tenzen has important things to say.

World! (Smash! Boom! Crash!)

Fire! (Whoosh! Sizzle! SSSSSSINGE!)

Air! (Hey, it really is Aang! He is immortal and area of the opening credits now!)

Water (Hi, Korra! Splash! Welcome to the world!)

When Tenzen was a boy, his dad, the Avatar Aang, told him about how he ended the Hundred Year War with the assistance of a neurotic, needy waterbender, a blind earthbender, a very ethically confused firebender, and a remarkably normal guy who could not do anything but crack jokes and fight like a complete tiger. After that war was eventually over, Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko - oh, it feels good to say that about Zuko! - worked together to make The United Republic of Nations. The idea was that benders and non-benders would come together in peace. I betcha Sokka helped write that charter. It is really a shame the dream started to tarnish when the originators expired. Aang and Zuko named their capitol Republic City, and gave it a motto: “Can not we all just get along?” Then Aang expired, and he changed into a statue within the harbor. Unfortunately, this had to happen, or we cannot meet Legend of Korra. It's just like the Immortals: there might be just one.

Of course, the story begins in a blizzard. Legend of Korra Season 2 Episode 9 is just a waterbender; so, she's got to live in a bare frozen wasteland. I wonder, if all of us go through enough Avatars, will we ever meet one that was raised in a comfortable city eating bon bons? A distinguished Inuit gentleman greets an envoy of the White Lotus. There is a child in his own house they have just gotta see.

While the envoys of the White Lotus enter the nicest igloo I have ever seen, a woman greets them nervously. Apparently, the White Lotus have already been sent on some wild goose chases and usually do not need to get misled again. But these two parents know their little girl is the Avatar. She's got no specific ability to start glowing when furious, but… she could make quite a violent entrance. Boom! Just made a fresh hole in the wall for ya, Mom! I ain't your grandmother's avatar! Deal with it, or I will set you on fire with these pointless little torches I keep lighting everywhere only to frighten everybody. She would not be accepted in a daycare center in your area. on

The years pass in a instant, and unexpectedly, we see a teenaged girl fighting in a few type of competition, where she's battling several firebenders at the same time and sending them sizzling onto the rooftops, still strangely living. There are lots of members of the White Lotus viewing this gravely, along with a wizened old woman who seems somehow precious and familiar. The shrewd old woman softly says, “She is strong” but the White Lotus guru says, “She lacks restraint.” Which may be true, White Lotus guy, but she continues to be the Avatar and you may not fire her from that position. In Any Case, she actually is sixteen. Who has restraint in the time of sixteen? After enough pyrotechnics to engulf a leading city in fires, Korra succeeds in making her last unlucky adversary pass out, and she celebrates with a war whoop. Korra is feeling pretty cocky, because she's mastered three of the four elements: fire, earth, and water. But, the grim-looking gurus aren't so sure about Korra. She is got the physical side down, but she has not got a clue concerning the religious side of being the Avatar. Korra agrees with this specific, but thinks that learning Air Bending under Tenzen will solve the religious problem Discover More.
